Five businesses in the Jefferson City area failed to properly identify the purchaser during alcohol compliance checks Thursday night, according to a news release the Jefferson City Police Department.

Members of the JCPD, the Missouri Division ofAlcohol and Tobacco Control and the Jefferson City Council for Drug Free Youth conducted alcohol compliance checks at 14 businesses throughout the city. Five businesses failed to properly identify the purchaser:

  • Smokehouse Smokeshop, 1600 E. McCarty
  • Break Time, 2755 Militia Drive
  • Phillips 66, 3714 W. Truman Blvd.
  • Break Time, 3000 W. Truman Blvd.
  • Macadoodles, 1806 Missouri Blvd.

The offending clerks were issued a citation to appear in municipal court, and the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco will take further action against the businesses depending on the number of previous violations, JCPD said in the release.
