Live in the Present & Plan for the Future

The BCS Access Business Systems plant in Winona will permanently close later this year, with about 123 employees expected to be laid off.

According to a March 26 letter sent from Winona plant manager Aaron MacLennan to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the mass layoff will occur in phases.

Some of the employees expected to be laid off are members of the Local 958 International Union, United Automotive, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America. Union employees will have seniority rights and certain bumping rights, pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement.

The layoffs are expected to begin in third and fourth quarters of this year.

No specific dates for the layoffs or the closure have been shared with the state department.

The BCS plant, which is owned by BCS Automotive Interface Solutions according to its website, is located at 5752 Industrial Park Road in Winona.
